Hello

I've been fascinated by construction for as long as I can remember, and I still love building things now, even if these days it's mostly with my kids!
 

When it came to choosing a career, I wanted to be close to the action, not stuck behind a desk every day. Quantity Surveying was a natural fit.
 

I started out working for a main contractor, where I got stuck into every phase of the project lifecycle: estimating, tendering, contract negotiation, valuations, variations, and final accounts. I learned how to manage risk, work with subcontractors and suppliers, and deliver results under pressure. It was a brilliant grounding in the commercial realities of construction.
 

From there, I moved into consultancy, supporting other main contractors as an external QS. More recently, I've worked with contractor-developers on their own projects, which has given me a broader perspective on both sides of the contract.
 

One of the things I enjoy most about consulting is the variety. I get to work with different organisations, different leaders, and different approaches to business. Every project brings something new.
 

I'm a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb).

 

Over my career so far, I've worked on projects totalling more than £100m in construction works combined, from luxury homes to healthcare and education facilities.
